On the 31st 7000 women will protest at the state capital in Simla. I will be there – with thousands of single women :) . Unfortunetaly, “single” has a different connotation here…

news from Dharamsala

March 16, 2008

Apart from the information’s you already got, the following could probably be helpful. First of all, as it seems the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) always got the pics and news first.

ACCORDING TO THE SITUATION HERE Yesterday was a gigantic candle march in Dharamsala followed by a meeting in the temple. I was there and you’ll find the official statement of his holiness attached to this mail. This speech wasn’t mentioned that often in the media. An hour ago monks started a hunger strike in the temple.
This morning a new group of 40 marchers started to continue the march to Tibet.
In McLeod Ganj all Tibetan shops and restaurants are closed and countless several groups are marching around holding up Tibetan flags.
At the moment (as far as I know) the group of 250 Tibetans (my estimation) who wanted to march to Lower Dharamsala is meanwhile near Gaggal (25km south from here).
